Josh & Gabi Suggs
Josh & Gabi Suggs
Josh and Gabi Suggs are New Mexico natives who are deeply passionate about conservation and spreading awareness of its' importance for generations to come.
Josh is an avid big game hunter and lifelong cutthroat fly fisherman. While he's been playing soccer professionally since 2010, he finds himself most at home in the mountains of Colorado with his wife and their son, Sage. This year you can bank on him taking photos of all his family's adventures whether that be camping in the Rocky Mountains or on the pursuit for elk in the Gila Wilderness.
Gabi is a public land advocate, fly fishing fanatic, wild game cooking enthusiast, big and small game hunter, and all around outdoors addict. She is at her happiest dry fly fishing and wet wading through small streams for Cutthroat and picking sun ripened wild raspberries.
Twenty-five years ago I was born in Seattle, Washington. My parents, Larry and Marci Phillips, life long adventures instilled their passion of the outdoors in me. My father is a regional director for Washington State Fish and Wildlife. My mother, has always had an inkling for nature by spending her time in the mountains of Idaho camping and fishing.
I attended Gonzaga University and played division 1 soccer. I graduated in 2014 and in 2015 I was signed to the Colorado Springs Switchbacks. There I met Jordan Burt who is one of my closest, teammates and fishing mentor. He was the one who first put a fly rod in my hands and got me hooked. I have spent the past two years fly fishing and exploring Colorado. I would never have been able to make so many memories without my “Backline Outdoors” family by my side.
Hey folks, my name is Jordan. I was born in the flat lands of Indiana, where I grew up playing soccer, chasing rutting whitetails and migrating mallards, and catching smallmouth bass on the St. Joe river. I wouldn't trade my boyhood of fort building, turtle catching, swimming, and fishing for anything in the world! My brother and I developed a deep rooted love for exploration and adventure that has never left me.
My passion for soccer never faded and I was lucky enough to receive a scholarship to play soccer at Butler University. During my time there, we would study hard, grow in sport, and meticulously plan all of our time off. Spring break trips were spent in the Smokies, scouting for new hunting land, and trips out west to fly-fish. My love for fly-fishing and hunting have filled my mind for as long as I can remember.
After turning professional, I somehow made it out to Colorado Springs which is hands down the best place to play: Soccer in the morning, fishing in the afternoon! Elk, Mule deer, and giant mountains all keep my mind racing. I wouldn't have it any other way. This is my dream lifestyle and I am truly grateful to lead the life I do. Along with my friends at Back Line Outdoors, I hope my stories and adventures help to inspire your own. All these things fire me up and give me the passion to follow my dreams, no matter how unconventional they are. Thanks for joining on this journey with us!
